A National Spokesman For Acellular Dermal Matrices (ADM)

You may not know that Dr. Bafitis has been a national spokesman for acellular dermal matrices (ADM) since September 2010.  He has spoken at numerous plastic surgical and general surgical enclaves and seminars, sharing his experience with ADMs, not only in breast reconstruction but in hernia repair and simultaneous body contouring and abdominoplasty (tummy tuck).

His lecturing has brought him into the forefront of the latest techniques in breast reconstruction and abdominal wall reconstruction as well as aesthetic balance with both these procedures.

Dr. Bafitis is presently working on significant publications involving studies with over 40 patients in breast reconstruction and 45 patients in abdominoplasty with the use of these acellular dermal matrices.  Dr. Bafitis feels that the use of an acellular dermal matrix has now revitalized the reconstructive aspects that are so integral to so many cosmetic procedures.

Dr. Bafitis has recently been asked to become a national lecturer for stem cell rejuvenation.  The stem cell rejuvenation is from adipose site derived stem cells (fat derived).  Because of his live teaching seminars where doctors receive credit for participation, he has been asked to be one of the first-tier doctors to get involved in fat-derived stem cells.

Dr. Bafitis has already done numerous cases with fat-derived stem cells, and this has significantly improved within three days to ten days patients with rheumatoid arthritis in terms of mobility, flexion, and extension in joints and significant diminution of pain as well as pain from inoperable spinal stenosis in the back and neck with improvement of pain over 50% to 60% within three weeks.

Dr. Bafitis also is employing the use of fat-derived stem cells for improvement in facial skin contour and improvement in facial rhytid (wrinkle) improvement which seems to be permanent.  He has incorporated the use of the stem cells from patients own fat with their own fat for fillers, which would improve contours in all areas of the body (i.e. improvement in breast size and shape, be it cosmetic or reconstruction; enhancement of gluteal fullness; improving contour in the cheeks; and filling in depressions from cellulite).

Dr. Bafitis is involved in the stem cell research and is presently lecturing on the benefits of the adipose site derived (fat derived) stem cells for face and body contour improvement as well as improvement in chronic conditions as stated above.

Dr. Bafitis has now been selected to be an educator and speaker for the new nonsurgical face tightening and soon to be body tightening system known as Ultheraphy.  This system is literally a nonsurgical facelifting system that utilizes directed ultrasound energy.  Within an hour to an hour and one-half, the cheek, neck, and jowls can be improved as well as the forehead raised with no surgery.  It does take three months to see an initial result, and 87% of people will need only one session; 11% will need two sessions, and this usually involves severe laxity or male facial skin; and 3% may need three treatments to give significant improvement.

Dr. Bafitis has investigated this system and has realized this FDA approved protocol is the beginning of a new generation of nonsurgical face and body contour improvement.  This particular system is leading the way and has not only changed the nature of nonsurgical facelifting but will have indications for the lifting of loose skin about the upper knee and improvement of loose skin of the arms.  The improvement seems to last between 18 and 24 and up to 36 months in most cases.

Dr. Bafitis is also coupling this noninvasive technique, which literally requires no downtime, with the use of lipoplasty of the neck and/or fractional CO2 lasering to give significant improvement with minimal downtime and essentially no anesthesia.
